How Many Passengers Fit? Sizing a Vehicle for Your Indy Group

The most common booking mistake is sizing a vehicle to the seat count on the spec sheet instead of to a comfortable, luggage-aware load. A van that technically seats 14 is miserable with 14 adults and a weekend of bags. Here is how we think about it.

The quick map

• 1-3 riders: Executive Sedan. The default for IND airport runs and downtown arrivals.
• 4-6 riders: Luxury SUV. Room for people and luggage, golf bags, or race-weekend gear.
• 7-8 riders, celebration: Stretch Limousine. Wraparound seating and a bar console for weddings and big nights out.
• 8-12 riders: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The corporate and convention workhorse; captain seating, ride-together comfort.
• 13-24 riders: Executive Mini-Coach. Wedding guest blocks and conference shuttles, with a luggage bay.
• 25-50+ riders: Motorcoach. Full convention blocks and stadium charters, restroom and underfloor bays.

Comfort load vs. max seats

Every vehicle has two numbers: the maximum it is rated for, and the load it carries comfortably. We size to the comfortable number, then check it against luggage. If your headcount lands right at a vehicle's ceiling and you are carrying bags, step up a size -- the cost difference is smaller than the discomfort.

When to split into multiple vehicles
