Downtown to Indianapolis Motor Speedway Car Service
Six miles on a normal day, a logistics puzzle on race day. This run lives and dies on the Georgetown Road and 16th Street closures -- and on the exit plan.
A chauffeured car service from downtown Indianapolis to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway covers about six miles west, from under 20 minutes on a normal day to roughly double on race day, from $120 in a sedan -- staged outside the Georgetown Road and 16th Street closure ring with a timed post-race exit.

Normal day vs. race day
On an ordinary day the Speedway is a quick 15-to-20-minute run from downtown. On Indy 500 race day it is a different trip: Georgetown Road closes south of 25th Street at 5:00 AM, 16th Street closes from about noon, and the lots hold until the pedestrian crowd clears. We plan the run around the live closures rather than fighting them.
Staging and the exit
We stage at a fixed rally point outside the closure ring, drop close enough for a manageable walk-in, and -- the part most people forget -- hold a separate meet point for the exit so you are not stuck in the post-race lot release. The complete timing model is in the Speedway guide and the race-day transport guide.
Frequently asked questions
QHow long does it take to get from downtown to the Speedway?
Under 20 minutes on a normal day. On Indy 500 race day, plan for roughly double and arrive far earlier than feels necessary, because Georgetown Road and 16th Street close and traffic builds all morning.
QCan you get to the Speedway with roads closed on race day?
Yes. We stage outside the Georgetown Road and 16th Street closure ring, drop within a manageable walk of your gate, and hold a separate meet point for the exit to avoid the post-race lot release.
QHow much is a ride from downtown to the Indy 500?
From $120 in a sedan and $150 in an SUV on a point-to-point basis; many race-day riders book hourly instead so the vehicle waits and handles both the drop and the timed exit.
